Even If He Doesn't...
Would you still judge Him faithful?
⚠️ WARNING:
This post does not negate the fact that God fulfills His promises. It just helps in shifting our focus from the things God can do for us, to God Himself.

Let's take a look at something mind-blowing that happened real life many years ago. It was recorded in the most powerful Book in the world. The only Book that is ancient, yet breathing and alive.
The only Book that is sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Oh, you already know the Book I'm talking about!
I hope you know that we can engage the Bible in three different ways;
Historically and archeologically
Doctrinally
Prophetically
The Bible is not just informative, it is also transformative and we trust the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts even as we dive deep into His word.
Let's see Daniel 3:17-18 NLT.
Before that, here is a quick background story;
King Nebuchadnezzar made a gold statue ninety feet tall and nine feet wide and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. Then he sent messages to the high officers, officials, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the provincial officials to come to the dedication of the statue he had set up. So all these officials came and stood before the statue King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
Then the King issued a decree requiring all the people to bow down and worship the gold statue when they hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and other musical instruments. The decree also states that those who refuse to obey must be thrown into a blazing furnace.
But some Jews—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, whom the King put in charge of the province of Babylon paid no attention to the King. They refused to serve the gods and worship the gold statue made by the King.
Then the King summoned them and they said to him in Daniel 3:17-18 NLT;
[17] If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty.
[18] But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”
“But even if He doesn't…” (there was a conviction behind that statement).
Just take a look at the heart of these men. Even if God does not save them, it does not change the fact that He is still God and there is no other god like Him.
For Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to utter that statement, it shows that they knew God more than what He could do. They had a very strong conviction about Him and they were also dead to idol worshipping.
And with that statement, they were thrown into the flaming furnace but they did not get burnt.
Daniel 3:27 NLT;
Then the high officers, officials, governors, and advisers crowded around them and saw that the fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke!
Can you see that? GOD SAVED THEM!
This also makes us understand that; When you step out of the fire, you will not look like the fire you went through.
It's the same with Job. He didn't look like the trials and test he went through when God restored him.
There was a time I asked myself this question;
Why did God permit those trials and test in Job's life?
Let's see that scripture for better understanding. Please pay attention.
Job 1:8-12 NLT
[8] Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.”
[9] Satan replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God.
[10] You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is!
[11] But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”
[12] “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.
Emphasis on “do whatever you want with everything he possesses.”
Why his possession not his life?
I would say that God knew what He was doing and He clearly knows the end from the beginning. He wanted to prove something to Satan that God's people do not serve Him only because of what He gives but because of who He is.
He wanted to prove to Satan, “Job loves Me more than his possession.”
That is the difference between the followers of Satan and the followers of God.
The followers of Satan are majorly following him only because of what he gives. The things and pleasures of this temporary world. They derive so much joy and satisfaction from the things of the world.
But life with God is eternal and we do not keep our focus on mundane things. God matters more to us than those things. Our identity is not tied to our success or failure. Our happiness is not tied to our possessions. We do not derive joy from the things of the world.
We believe that God is able to bless us with all things that pertains to life and Godliness.
We do not get carried away by the frivolities of this world. We know that when we go through the fire, we will not get burnt.
We don't want anything He would not give us. In anything we are doing in this world, God has to be involved.
We know that when we have Him, we have everything and that is more than enough.
So even if He doesn't, He is still God because He knows best.
But will He fulfill His promises? YES!
God wants us to obtain His promises from a place of rest not anxiety.
When you find your rest in God, He will definitely meet you at the point of your needs.
Sometimes, it's not that God doesn't want to give you those things you have been praying for, He just wants you to be dead to those things first.
Why do I mean by “dead to those things?”
He will first teach you how to thrive without them so that when they eventually come, you won't attach so much importance to them above Him.
Dear friend, at the end of it all, only Jesus truly satisfies.
Amen? Amen!

God bless you for this🙏
I needed this
As believers, our satisfaction is in Him and Him alone. Just like God told the Israelites to turn their hearts to him and serve him alone.
We do not look to God for the bread that he gives but we look to Him for the Bread that He is.
Thank you for this. Even when things don’t go the way we want it, God remains good. And we still judge Him faithful. Because He is all that matters.
